Our new classroom and upgraded facilities were officially opened recently by Fr. Michael Donnelly. Our thanks to John Fahey, Eugene Brady, Eamonn McGurn, Senator Windows, Christopher Boyle and all who worked on the upgrade. We also extend our thanks to the fundraising committee and all in the community who gave of their time and their money to help us achieve the upgrade.
The parking upgrade and playground extension is also complete and we must thank the BOM and especially Fr. Donnelly for the provision of funding for this project. It is important to note that only the windows and electrics were paid for by the Department of Education and Science, everything else was provided by local funding and we appreciate the efforts that local people have put in to improve their local school. As small schools come under increasing pressure from a policy designed to ensure their closure it is heartening to witness the commitment of locals to the continuing education of children within their own locality. Our grateful thanks to you all.
